RESOURCES FOR YOUTH

Getting involved in the fight against substance misuse in your community begins with a desire to create positive change. Start by utilizing our Youth Coalition page (hyperlink) to see if your community has a youth program. If they do, join it and become a part of the conversation.

Even if your community doesn’t have a YLINK program, youth leadership prevention groups or a prevention coalition with youth membership, there are still plenty of ways for you to contribute and make a difference.

Attend workshops, webinars, or training about substance misuse prevention.

Reach out to community groups, your school, or local health departments to see how you can partner with existing adult prevention efforts.

Use social media platforms to raise awareness, spark conversations, and promote healthy behaviors in your community.

If a program isn’t available in your community, consider starting a youth-led group focused on substance misuse prevention, and invite other young people to join. Working with your school staff and community members to create the change you wish you see.
